Issue Description
-
An Outlook for Mac user sends an internal email.
-
The email is processed by Crossware Email Signature, and inline images are appended to the message.
-
The email is received by an iPhone Mail app user who replies to the message.
-
The original inline images now appear as attachments to the recipient of the reply.
Cause
This behaviour is not related to Crossware Email Signature.
It can be reproduced in an environment where Crossware Email Signature is not installed.
Steps to reproduce:
-
Create a new email using Outlook for Mac.
-
Insert an inline image into the body of the email.
-
Send the email to a user with an iPhone Mail app.
-
When the iPhone user replies, the original inline image will appear as an attachment in Outlook for Mac.
Notes
-
The issue does not occur when replying using the Outlook app on iPhone.
-
The attachments do not appear when viewed in Outlook for Windows.
-
This is a known interoperability issue between Apple Mail and Outlook for Mac, related to how inline images are handled and encoded in replies.
